Here we go again. Another brother of ours has been shot by the cops. And what is our response? To protest, vote and beg for justice. SMH. I wish so badly that we would stop seeking justice from the same government, police system and people who enslaved us. It’s foolish and self-defeating.
You can’t protest or vote your way out of oppression. The last 400 years of history have proven this to us. Yet we continue doing the same thing and then get mad at the results. We need to understand that NO ONE can give us freedom or justice. It’s something you find within yourself and manifest outward.
In other words, if we truly desired justice for the continuous police shootings and systemic racism that we’ve been facing, we wouldn’t be asking the police and politicians for it; we would take matters into our own hands by returning the same treatment. This is justice, at least to me it is.
But I know the vast majority of us are not willing to pay that price, so lets consider preventative methods of justice. For some, this could be re-establishing black communities and funding our own security force to protect us. For others, it could be moving to another country such as Africa where racism and police brutality doesn’t exist. Whatever our method of justice is, it must be contrary to begging others for it.
When people know they can kill and oppress you without consequences, they continue to do so. And this government and police force was founded upon the murder of black people, so voting and protesting ain’t going to change that. This is why it makes no sense to keep trying.
If we really want change, we have nowhere else to look but at the mirror. We are the solution to our oppression. If we would just stop looking outside ourselves for saviors, we would see that we are the saviors. We’re all we ever had, all we got, and all we need.
So rise up kings and queens and become the champions you were created to be. Heal yourself. Respect yourself. Love your people as yourself. And divorce yourself from your oppressor’s culture and ideologies. Once enough of us embark on this path, we will automatically solve our own problems and no longer look to the oppressor for justice.
Pass this along to whoever needs to hear it. Peace & Love.

Indeed.
Mr. Mo’Reese, I been following you for almost 2 years. I know your readers going to see my comments, and I am in no way or form to disrespect anyone. I am what you call… Uneducated, toward politics in this country. I must confess…I heard more about racism growing up than Church. My parents been married over 40 years and never believed in Church, because in my household growing up, it was always about the Bible controlling slaves. My dad always told me that in times, from what he learned, the Bible is a hustle for black preaching to earn money and not do nothing for blacks but themselves. I work a honest job, social myself because of what I was taught from people who try to force religion on me. I grew up in a family that says, the unknown higher power, based on how we got here is our God. A lot of what’s going on today, I didn’t see too much in the 80s or 90s, or maybe I was too focused on the TV shows because internet didn’t exist, I graduated 1993. But, Everytime I get off work, I hear about this and that. It’s depressing. I am 45 years old. Because of what my parents instilled in my head, I only voted one time in my lifetime…Obama. But his second term, I refuse to. I love and appreciate everything you taught me, but my question is this from your last post….You say Africa is the place to go where there is no brutality, but I’m reading that they having problems with China and their own forces. They taking deals with China (talk to someone in Ghana) still selling their own people out. I am confused. I know some of our African history sold us to Europeans, and I also know that many were stolen…then where I live in Ohio, there’s quite a few I come on contact put the hatred blame on us. My opinion is this…I also believe protesting is useless. Black on black can’t be helped. You ever heard the expression that if you play with a puppy you may get licked in the face, but a grown dog will bite you. I am confused..I need enlightening..Slavery never ended, I was taught that by my daddy. I never learned about our people I’m schools. Malcolm X and Martin Luther King had short paragraphs in those history books. I later learned before Dick Gregory passed, it was FBI that killed him, settled out of court. Even with my opinion, I still feel in my heart that you’re intelligent, great father, husband, brother, and beyond everything else. I know with this Corona virus, I respect wife and all that is first. Your opinions make me think.
Peace & love! You said a lot there. So I’m not sure what your question was. Can you make it plain so I can respond concretely?
“my question is this from your last post….You say Africa is the place to go where there is no brutality, but I’m reading that they having problems with China and their own forces. They taking deals with China (talk to someone in Ghana) still selling their own people out.”
I think he is asking if it’s really feasible to go to Africa. If so, I had that same question.
Hey Laura. I’m familiar with what’s happening in Africa. I’ve been dealing with people who live in various countries across the continent for over three years. In regards to my comment about there being no brutality there, I’m referring to the police brutality we face here in the states. That’s non existent there. And the issues with the Chinese migrating over there is very minimal. But the reason the locals cut deals with the Chinese and other immigrants is because they provide them with infrastructure and jobs. The only way to put an end to that is for more of us to move over there and build businesses and provide opportunities as well. Africa is the future and there is unlimited potential over there for us. The pros easily outweigh the cons. Peace & love.
