Me and my family just binged the new tv series, The Crossover, over the past weekend and I have to say, it’s one of the dopest tv shows out.
The number one thing I liked about it is the fact that it was pure enough for my lil ones to watch with me. With all of the vanity, oversexualization, and gender confusion that’s in so many modern series, my kids aren’t allowed to watch much TV shows (at least not without me or my wife being present). But The Crossover was different. It’s something the entire family can watch and relate to.
In case you haven’t seen it yet, The Crossover is based on Kwame Alexander’s award-winning children’s book by the same name. It’s about two young alpha-male basketball stars and their journey from teenagers to young adults led by the guidance of their retired-NBA father and school-principal mother. Experienced from two different timelines, the show touches on modern issues that challenge both youth and adults, and the rules of the court are used as a metaphor for life.
If you’re looking for dope tv series that the entire family can watch, I highly suggest you check out The Crossover. It just may be the best black family show on TV right now!
